A self-initiated project built around one simple idea: make space for things that would otherwise just pass by. Zwischenraum is a personal blog and digital journal — part writing space, part photo gallery, part ongoing experiment in slowing down and paying attention. Designed and built as a companion to a year-long volunteer placement in Bolivia, it's a place where thoughts, moments, and unfinished ideas are welcome.
The concept grew out of something personal: the challenge of actually following through. Rather than letting ideas accumulate and fade, Zwischenraum was built as a deliberate structure for capturing them — raw or refined, complete or still in progress.
The site combines a blog with a curated photo gallery, ambient background music, and a tone that feels more like a letter than a portfolio. Every design decision was made in service of that feeling: unhurried, honest, and quietly inviting. The name itself German for "in-between space" reflects the project's nature: somewhere between a diary and a publication, between leaving and arriving.
Technically a personal build, but more than a technical exercise. Zwischenraum is about what it means to document a life in motion and to share it with anyone who happens to land there somewhere between chance and curiosity.
